Range Rover continues its commitment to safety and earns another 5-star rating!

Euro NCAP: 2013 Range Rover gets 5-star rating

The 2013 Range Rover has been recently awarded with a 5-star safety rating for safety performance by Euro NCAP, as the British based automaker has recently announced in a press release. Euro NCAP says that the 2013 Range Rover has received 15.2p in the front impact test, 8.0p in the side impact and 7.3p in the side pole impact. 2.1 points have been received in the rear impact and the model scored 12.0p in the 18-month old child protection and 11.1 points in the 3-year old child protection. These points total a 91 percent (33p) overall score in adult occupant and 84 percent (41p) in child occupant protection.

“This is the second vehicle launched in as many years with Range Rover Evoque achieving the same result in 2011. Euro NCAP have significantly increased the Pedestrian Protection target in 2012 and Land Rover has risen to the challenge with the all-new Range Rover achieving one of the highest ever scores for Pedestrian within its vehicle category. It’s an incredible achievement and testament to the dedication of our engineering team”, said the Land Rover global brand director, John Edwards.

As a quick reminder, the 2013 Range Rover has been officially presented to the public a couple of months ago, during the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The model is getting a choice of two gasoline engines, a 5.0L V8 with 375 HP and a 5.0L supercharged V8 with 503 HP, along with a V6 diesel generating 255 HP.
